Colargol and his magic suitcase

When I was a kid I watched Colargol at my grandparents house on the Access Network in the 80′s. I loved the animation and the stories about a little red bear that lived in a big forest.

But for me the main attraction of Colargol (or Jeremy as we knew him in Canada) was his magic suitcase. The suitcase was metallic grey and at the top near the handle on one side was a bunch of buttons. The suitcase could become lots of different things such as a rocket, a boat or car. Actually come to think of it it was usually a conveyance of some sort. But the idea of a programmable suitcase was huge for my 6 year old brain.

In the following clip Colargol is stuck in the Siberian snow after his plane (the suitcase) crash lands. Soon enough (around a minute into the video) he punches a few keys on the suitcase and the airplane changes into snowmobile. Sweet. Checkout Colargol’s awesome green sunglasses.
